'Justice for Aliza' Petition Started for Beachwood Nurse Murdered in Cleveland

Hundreds of people have already signed the e-petition asking Cleveland officials to make the city more safe and to find Sherman's killer.

Thirteen weeks ago Cleveland Clinic nurse Aliza Sherman was murdered on the streets of Cleveland and with her killer still on the loose her family is growing desperate for justice.

An online petition was started on Change.org, asking Cleveland officials to catch Sherman's killer and to make Cleveland a safer place.

As of Monday afternoon, 253 people signed the online petition. The goal is to get more than 4,700 e-signatures.

The 53-year-old died in a stabbing near Erieview 55 at E. 12th Street and Lakeside Avenue, near her divorce attorney's office. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office said Sherman was stabbed 11 times to death.

She died two days before her divorce trial was scheduled to begin. Her estranged husband, Dr. Sanford Sherman, has retained Niki Schwartz, a well-known criminal defense attorney, despite not being named a person of interest in the case, according to WKYC.
