Maltz Presents Women in Holocaust Exhibit

The exhibit originated in Jerusalem and is the only to focus on women's experiences in the Holocaust

The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage's first exhibition of 2013 is here, honoring the memory of women in the Holocaust. "Spots of Light: To Be a Woman in the Holocaust" began at the museum on March 19 and goes through June 9. Yad Vashem first created this exhibit in Jerusalem. It is the first to solely focus on stories of women's experiences in the Holocaust. The exhibit features a large video installation with various images of the women involved. According to a Maltz news release, the exhibit's focus will be women who displayed courage, creativity and initiative. Maltz Museum's Israeli Arts & Culture Exhibit Ends This Weekend

The program has been running since October, but concludes this Sunday

Time is running out on the public's opportunity to see an exhibit that features contemporary work from and inspired by Israel. The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage's "Israeli Arts and Culture" series ends Sunday. It has been running since late October. According to Maltz, a highlight is "Bezalel on Tour," an exhibition celebrating the 106th anniversary of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, the oldest higher education academy of art, design and architecture in Israel. The Bezalel exhibition was curated by Muli Ben Sasson, head of the Ceramics and Glass Design department there. Beachwood Chamber of Commerce members will have their first opportunity of 2013 to network tonight at a members-only event. The organization is hosting a "Networking After Five" event tonight from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Sushi Rock. The Chamber hopes members will shake hands, exchange cards and potentially find cross-marketing opportunities or ways to do business with one another. Sushi Rock will also offer appetizers.
