A presentation from the city's economic development director laid out ideas on how the city could attract more businesses
Beachwood wanted to attract more businesses for years, and now officials have a plan to achieve that goal. Economic Development Director Jim Doutt gave other city officials a presentation Monday on the types of firms they should target, how they should go about doing so and the selling points for their city. The $17 million hospital will open in October
Plans remain on track for the University Hospitals' latest Beachwood Hospital. In a joint venture with Nashville, Tenn.-based Centerre Healthcare Corp., UH will open an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in October at Green and Harvard Roads. It's a $17 million project and is expected to provide 150 jobs to the city. Though he hasn't heard many other details about the project, Beachwood Economic Development Director James A. Doutt is excited about UH's desire to expand. "I think it's fantastic," he said. I hope that they will be extending the sidewalks along Harvard Road there. With the new rehab center and Eaton Corporation, there will be additional people utilizing public transportation in the area and walking along Harvard.   more ›
