LOOK: Newly Renovated Beachwood Library

Library will host ice cream social and grand opening June 10

The Beachwood Public Library will host an ice cream social June 10 to celebrate the completion of $885,000 in renovations. Branch manager William Kelly said he expected the new drive-thru — the first in the Cuyahoga County Public Library network — to open this week. Click through the photos above to see the completed project. The grand re-opening and ice cream social is free, but the library asks that you RSVP (so there's enough ice cream for everyone!). LOOK: Last of the Beachwood Library Renovations

Renovations could conclude this week

We stopped by the Beachwood Library last week and took a couple photos of the latest renovations. The library has been open throughout the $885,000 renovations, which were paid for by a bond sale. More Photos: Beachwood Library Renovations Branch manager Bill Kelley said that the renovations could be complete this week — workers were working on the drive-thru when we stopped in. Click through to see photos of the library, and watch Beachwood Patch for more when the library is complete.

Homebound? Let the Library Come to You

Cuyahoga County Public Library offers mail service to eligible residents

Homebound residents can now have library materials mailed. This week the Cuyahoga County Public Library launched Library2You, a free program for residents who are elderly, have a physical, visual or mental impairment or are temporarily homebound. Eligible residents can order materials online or over the phone and the library will mail them to them for free. Like DVD subscription services, the materials will come in a reusable envelope that patrons can use to send the materials back after using. More details and applications for the program, which is supported by the McGregor Foundation, are available at the library’s website.
