Woman charged with stealing at Dillard’s Jan. 18, 3:28 p.m. — A woman was arrested at Dillard’s at the Beachwood Place Mall and charged with stealing $308 of merchandise. Man charged with driving with open container Jan. 20, 11:31 p.m. — A man was arrested on Chagrin Boulevard at Interstate 271 and charged with drunken driving and having an open container of alcohol in his car. Attempted burglary reported Jan. 20, 1:11 p.m. — Police responded to a burglary alarm on Hyde Park and found signs of attempted forced entry. Police respond to report of marijuana odor Jan. 11, 12:49 p.m. — Police responded to Hamptons Building 1 after management reported that there was a smell of marijuana in the hallway. Police found the apartment that the smoke was coming from and the tenant said she had smoked, but it was gone and police did not find paraphernalia in the apartment. No charges were filed. Woman drives into snowbank Jan. 11, 10:16 p.m. — Police report that an elderly woman crashed her car into a snowbank on the 24700 block of Maidstone Lane. Man urinates in mall office Jan. 4, 5:16 p.m. — Employees at the Beachwood Place Mall report that a man walked into their office and asked to use the bathroom. They told him that there was not one in the office, and he should go to Nordstrom. Then, the report says, the employee heard the man unzip his pants. Police department’s gate damaged Monday, Dec. 31, 5:20 p.m. — A Beachwood Police officer noticed non-criminal damage to the gate of the police department on Richmond Road. No foul play is suspected. Man arrested on theft charge Monday, Dec. 31, 4:24 p.m. — A man was arrested at Dillards at the Beachwood Place Mall after police say he stole $149 in merchandise. One arrested after fight involving more than 100 Tuesday, Jan. 1, 1:52 a.m. — A man was arrested at the Embassy Suites after police say he was involved in a fight with more than 100 people in a second floor hallway. The 47-year-old man from Cleveland was charged with assault.
