"People, Places and Things" features four artists and more than 80 pieces
People, places and things are seen everywhere, every day, but not through the eyes of an artist. The Beachwood Community Center will change that with the opening of its latest exhibit. The "People, Places and Things" gallery kicks off Sunday with an opening reception from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the center. The exhibit runs through Jan. 26. "It's all about how they interpret different things through their artistic eyes," program coordinator Susan Gordon Merdler said. "We have a lovely array (of artwork)." Susan Cone Porges' The Art Studio has been on Mercantile since June
Susan Cone Porges found a Beachwood studio perfect for creating her own artwork, instructing others and now hosting a holiday show. Porges will celebrate and display her students' work tonight with a reception to kick off her holiday show that runs through January 11. The Susan Cone Porges Art Studio has been at 23495 Mercantile Road Unit O since this summer. "For the past five or six years, I've been teaching out of my home and working out of my home studio, but I kind of outgrew it," Porges said. "I decided to find a place outside of my house where I bring students and do my own artwork."
