Smith's Tuesday court appearance has been cancelled
Scott A. Smith was indicted on weapons charges Monday after being arrested with a loaded gun, ammunition and four knives at an Aug. 4 showing of The Dark Knight Rises at Regal Cinema in Crocker Park. The current charges listed at the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas docket are a fourth-degree felony carrying concealed weapons (for the gun found on him), a misdemeanor carrying concealed weapon (for the four knives found on him) and a third-degree felony for having weapons under disability (for the gun on him as well as the ones taken from his home). The prosecution is basing the weapons under disability charge on the claim that Smith has some kind of substance abuse issue. Smith has been in jail — first in Westlake, then at the …

Fans still headed to Cleveland theaters to see "The Dark Knight Rises" despite the recent shooting in suburban Colorado.
Andrew Bower called his best friend Friday to make sure he was OK. His friend lives in Denver, CO., and he wanted to make sure he wasn’t at the theater in Aurora where a gunman opened fire and killed at least 12 people and injured 58 others. But the tragic event didn’t stop him from seeing The Dark Knight Rises at Capitol Theatre Friday night. “I think it’s an isolated incident. I think it’s a really sad incident,” Bower said. Pre-trial motion hearings are expected to begin today in the case against Hemy Neuman, the man charged with killing Beachwood native Russell Sneiderman. New filings in marital separation case outline new allegations against suspect Hemy Neuman
It supposedly started with a resume. New documents filed in the separation case of Hemy Zvi Neuman, the man accused of murdering Beachwood native Russell "Rusty" Sneiderman in November, allege that Neuman and Sneiderman’s wife had an affair–beginning shortly after Neuman’s wife gave him Andrea Sneiderman’s resume. Dunwoody Patch reports that Henry Neuman pleaded not guilty last week to charges stemming from the shooting death of Beachwood native Rusty Sneiderman. Prosecutors allege that Neuman shot Sneiderman outside a Dunwoody, GA, daycare center, where Sneiderman had dropped off his child. After the arraignment, Neuman's estranged wife's attorney alleged that Neuman had been in an affair with Sneiderman's wife, Andrea Sneiderman. Andrea Sneiderman's phone records and emails have been searched as part of the investigation.
