Woman robbed of $6,000 cash Thursday, March 14 10 a.m. — A woman reported that Feb. 25 someone robbed her of $6,000 cash. The woman said that she drove with a friend and another person to a Beachwood car dealership to purchase a car. Her friend had told her to bring cash for the down payment, she said. The second man, who the woman did not know, told her that he had a gun and demanded the cash. There were no injuries and no one has been charged for the robbery. Soliciting, marijuana lands man in jail Thursday, Oct. 4, 10:08 p.m. — A man was arrested at the Clarion Hotel and charged with possession of marijuana and soliciting. Man robs H & M at Beachwood Place Friday, Oct. 5, 4:36 p.m. — A man was arrested for robbery at H&M at the Beachwood Place Mall. Police say he ran into an elderly woman and knocked her to the ground as he tried to run with stolen items. An accomplice was also arrested and charged with theft. Halcyon Resident Robbed at Gunpoint

Man displayed gun, demanded money in Beachwood driveway

A resident reported that someone robbed him at gunpoint in his Halcyon* Road driveway Saturday. Beachwood Police were dispatched at 4:47 p.m. to the residential street off Cedar Road near Legacy Village. The resident told police a black male with a medium build displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. No one was injured. Police broadcasted a description of the suspect vehicle to other police departments, but no suspect was located. The resident told police the robber escaped with around ten dollars. FirstMerit Bank Robbed Twice in Two Months

Man showed handgun and escaped with money Friday afternoon

FirstMerit Bank was robbed last week for the second time in as many months. A man showed a handgun and robbed the bank Friday afternoon, said police. No one was injured when a man wearing a bandana covering his face and a gun in his hand demanded money from a bank teller at FirstMerit Bank at 22835 Chagrin Blvd. He escaped with money, though police are not releasing how much. The incident occurred between about 2:45 and 3:45 p.m., according to the report. FirstMerit was also robbed June 7. No further details about this incident, or whether police believe the two incidents are related, was available Monday afternoon.

Beachwood's FirstMerit Bank Robbed

Cleveland FBI searching for suspect

The Cleveland FBI office is searching for a man who robbed the FirstMerit Bank in Beachwood last week. Police said a light-skinned black man walked into the bank at 22835 Chagrin Blvd. around 11 a.m. June 7 and passed a note demanding money to the teller. He got money from the bank, said FBI spokesman Scott Wilson, but the amount has not been released. The man was wearing a blue and cream striped shirt, a navy blue baseball hat and blue jeans. He did not show the teller a weapon and no one was injured during the incident. That day, the Beachwood Police reported the robbery on Twitter and asked followers to look for a man with red dye on his hands and call them if he was seen.
