Police say suspect's BAC was nearly three times the legal limit

A Maple Heights man, with a blood alcohol content of almost three times the legal limit, was arrested in Beachwood after police said he tried to get on a motorcycle and tipped it. Beachwood Police spotted John Mathews’ failed attempt to mount the bike just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19 at the Hilton Cleveland East and stopped to talk to him. Mathews, 26, was drunk, said police, and was in violation of helmet laws and his novice motorcycle license restrictions.
