Lesic & Camper will begin second full year as city's public and community relations provider in 2013.
Beachwood City Council approved a one-year contract with public relations firm Lesic & Camper for services in 2013. The contract requires 30 to 40 hours a month and will pay about $50,000 to $67,000 for website and social media management, media relations and document creation, including the city's promotional materials and its monthly magazine The Beachwood Buzz, for the City of Beachwood and its Economic Development Department. This is similar to the firm's 2012 contract with the city. Lesic & Camper was one piece of an economic development drive that the city intiated in May 2012. The City of Beachwood has launched official Facebook and Twitter accounts to help residents stay current with the latest information. "We believe social media will enhance our ability to share news relating to local business, community events, city services and other key issues," wrote Mayor Merle Gorden in a statement. He added that the tools will be helpful in getting information directly to the residents - especially those who may not check the city's website for news. Marketing consultants Lesic & Camper have been contracted by the city to run public relations through 2012 as the city works to revamp economic development. Lesic & Camper Communications will guide economic development public relations for another year
The city of Beachwood will contract public relations services for its economic development initiatives for another year. Council unanimously approved at measure at the Dec. 19 meeting to contract Lesic & Camper Communications, LLC at just over $5,000 a month for the first six months. The contract includes a clause that requires Lesic & Camper to be “flexible in negotiating a reduced rate” if the company spends less than 35 hours a week on the services. The city hired Lesic & Camper in May, along with other consultants, to help shape the city’s economic future.
