Storefront to open in June
Hiroshi's Pub, a favorite local spot for burgers and sushi, closed its doors Saturday night, but a signs on the windows say that something will open there in June. No word yet from Hiroshi, but now we have heard that another restaurant will go in. Hiroshi's has not filed a permit with the City of Beachwood to perform major renovations to the building. We first heard a rumor on the comments of a story on Beachwood Patch last week, and we contacted the restaurant and went to Facebook to try to get more answers. Readers had heard, too, and one remarked that his server Friday night at Hiroshi's had confirmed that it was closing and said that a place called Michaelangelo's was taking over. Only 50 seats left for local foodie event
With local fare from places like Moxie, Sushi Rock and Phil the Fire, it’s not surprising that only 50 seats are left for the Taste of Beachwood. Local restaurants will serve up samples and the Beachwood High School Chamber Ensemble will provide music. Vendors listed so far include Beachwood Bistro, Chop It Salad Co., CJ's American Bar & Grill, Costco, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Hiroshi's Pub, Maggiano's Little Italy, Mitchell's Fish Market, Moxie, Red, Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar, Phil the Fire and Sushi Rock. The Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event at Embassy Suites in Beachwood Nov. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 and the event is limited to 250 seats.
