Purim parties were hopping last week all over the city, and local organizations came out in droves to share their best photos. What a turnout! Fairmount Temple to host five candidates at Greater Cleveland Congragations event
The Greater Cleveland Congregations — made up of 40 religious congregations and community organizations — have invited the five candidates for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor to a forum in Beachwood. The forum will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, 23737 Fairmount Blvd. The GCC expects up to 700 attendees to the event. A press release states that the candidates will be questioned on the GCC's "priority areas:" adequate representation for the accused, use of over-charging in felony cases, availability of diversion and treatment programs for non-violent offenders and treatment and care of children in the juvenile justice system.

Deer stuck in swing set Wednesday, Feb. 8, 8:42 a.m. — A Richmond Road resident reported that a deer had gotten its antlers stuck in a swing set in their backyard. Police contacted the animal warden, who responded and freed the deer. Raccoon stuck in home’s chimney Friday, Feb. 10, 6:37 a.m. — A resident reported that she heard noises coming from her chimney and thought it might be an animal. When police arrived, they found a raccoon in the chimney and referred the woman to animal control.
