Violent Crime in Beachwood Tops Cities of Similar Size
We put Beachwood's numbers next to other cities in Ohio with comparable populations. How did Beachwood stack up?
While Beachwood is in line with most cities of its size in most crime, there were more incidents of violent crime in 2011 than any Ohio city with a similar population that participated in the FBI's report. Cities are not required to report their stats to the FBI, and last year, Beachwood did not. Violent crime includes murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault. The property crime stats include burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft and arson.
