Women charged with shoplifting Thursday, March 7, 6 p.m. — Two women were arrested at Dillard’s at the Beachwood Place Mall and charged with shoplifting $145 of merchandise. Drunken driver using cell phone, driving with expired plates Friday, March 8, 3 a.m. — A woman was arrested at 3447 Green Road and charged with drunken driving, speeding, using a cell phone and expired license plates. Police: Suspected Drunken Assailant Flees Scene in Car

Police say the man's BAC clocked in at more than twice the legal limit when they pulled him over.

The following information was supplied by the Beachwood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Police say a man whose blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit assaulted his girlfriend at the Clarion Hotel and then got into his car and drove away. Police arrested the man near the Clarion Hotel and charged him with domestic violence, drunken driving, running a red light, speeding and causing a disturbance. The report indicates that his blood-alcohol level was .161 percent, more than twice the legal limit to drive, which is .08 percent. The victim reported the incident to police and then the suspect left the scene in his car. Police found a vehicle matching her description and …
