Shaker Heights Man Killed in Crash

25-year-old Brian Horwich died in crash at Warrensville Center and Fairmount early this morning.

One person was killed in a car crash early this morning on Fairmount Boulevard in Shaker Heights — though less than 12 hours from the time of the crash many details remain unclear about what happened. Police would not release the name of the deceased, but many news outlets have identified him as Brian Horwich, 25, of Shaker Heights. The crash happened at about 1:39 a.m. just west of Warrensville Center Road. Police said it appears that the car hit a pole. One person died at the scene. Police said that there were other people in the car, but they do not know how many. They are unaware of any other injuries. Police: Drunken Driver Hits Tree

Crash on Lyndway Road leads to criminal charges

A man was taken to the hospital and cited for drunken driving after he hit a tree on Lyndway Road in Beachwood just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning. Santos Dejesus, Jr., 37, of Cleveland, suffered minor injuries after police say he lost control on southbound Lyndway Road. He crossed over the left side of the road, went over a curb and hit a tree in the yard of 2165 Lyndway. Beachwood Police estimate his speed at 20 miles per hour. The man was charged by police with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and reckless operation.

Naked Man Runs from Beachwood Crash

Two charged after early morning incident on Interstate 271

A man was seen running naked from a car crash on Interstate 271 overnight, News Net 5 reported. Beachwood Police told Beachwood Patch that Torriano Brown, 30, and Willie Chandler, 29, both of Cleveland, were arrested following the incident. Brown was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol and reckless operation of a motor vehicle and Chandler was charged with felony possession of a weapon. Police would not say which man was naked when the car crashed. The incident occured at around 2 a.m., and the driver of the other car left the scene uninjured, NewNet5 reported. Police would not release further information.
