Maltz College Essay Contest Deadline Wednesday

There is still time to enter to win a piece of $100,000 in prizes

High school juniors and seniors can still enter to win a piece of $100,000 in scholarships and prizes in the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage's third annual Stop the Hate: Youth Speak Out essay contest. The deadline for essay submissions is Wednesday, Jan. 5. The contest asks students to reflect on an act of discrimination they have witnessed and how they responded to it and to outline an action plan for fighting discrimination. Entries for students in 6th through 10th grades were due Dec. 1 and finalists in both contests will be announced by early spring, said Maltz Museum Executive Director Judi Feniger. In the contest's first two years, more than 300 entries were received and 46 students have won prizes. The grand prize for high school …
