High school boys varsity basketball coach steps down after leading Bison to winningest season in 2013
The Plain Dealer has reported that Beachwood High School head varsity coach Jason Pecjak is resigning. He was suspended earlier this year, but he told the paper that was not related to his resignation. The coach led the Bison to their winningnest season in 2013, finishing at 23-4 and making it to Regional Finals. Read more about the resignation from The Plain Dealer.

The Beachwood boys basketball team is one win away from the state tournament after they beat Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas Wednesday. Did you go to the game? Share your photos and videos here! The final score in the Division III regional semifinal was 54-50, according to social media reports. Beachwood plays for the regional title Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Beachwood High School boys basketball team will take on St. Thomas Aquinas for a chance at District III regional title tonight. The team won the Solon District title last week with a 55-52 win over Gilmour. Tonight's game is at 6:15 p.m. at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse, 1815 Harrison Ave. NW, Canton.. If the Bison win, they will play in the District III championship Saturday, March 16. Presale tickets are available at Beachwood High School for $6 and $8 at the door. Fans are wearing white to the game, hoping to "white-out" the stands.

Bison beat Lancers 55-52 and will play St. Thomas Aquinas in a regional semifinal next week
The Beachwood boys basketball team won the Painesville District title after they beat the Gilmour Lancers 55-52 Friday. I think that’s what it came down to. Home game starts at 6:15 p.m.
The Beachwood boys basketball team will face Wickliffe tonight in the Division III playoffs. The Bison earned the top seed in the Division III Painesville District and closed the regular season Monday with an 81-64 win over Lake Catholic, according to BeachwoodBison.org. Cleveland.com reports that Jason Pecjak was suspended, possibly over a private message sent on a social media network, but district will not confirm.
Cleveland.com reports that Beachwood High School boys basketball coach Jason Pecjak has been suspended from coaching over a private social media message. The news website cited a source in the school for the information. District spokesperson Doug Levin told Patch that district administrators would not comment on the matter nor confirm the suspension. Submitted by BeachwoodBison.org Beachwood will open the 2013 post-season as the No. 1 seed in the Division III Harvey District Tournament. “It’s pretty cool and I think it’s the first time in school history,” said Beachwood head coach Jason Pecjak. “I don’t think it’s anything to hang your hat on too much, but it kind of reflects the hard work we put in up to this point.” Although Beachwood earned the top seed, Pecjak doesn’t consider his team the favorite to advance to the regional tournament. That role still belongs to No. 3 seed St. Peter Chanel, the defending district champion. The Firebirds won the 2012 district title with a 69-67 double overtime win over Beachwood. “Here’s the bottom line,” Pecjak said. “They’re the team to beat. …

Beachwood Federation of Teachers sponsors night to bring young families to Beachwood High School Snowball Weekend
The Beachwood Federation of Teachers will sponsor a Family Fun Night prior to the Beachwood High School basketball game Snowball Weekend. The event is free with admission to the 7:30 p.m. game against Wickliffe Feb. 8 at Beachwood High School. Geared toward kids, the event will be in the school's auxilliary gym and feature inflatables, face painting, a LEGO display and more. The halftime show at the game will feature recognition of the Chagrin Valley Conference Champion boys' soccer and baseball teams, the youth cheerleaders and the crowning of the Snowball King. Family Fun Night begins at 6 p.m. Admission to the game is $6 for adults, $4 for students and free for Beachwood students.
