Beachwood Couple Named Red Cross Heroes

A Beachwood couple were named Heroes by the American Red Cross of Greater Cleveland this week.

Mort and Iris November were awarded the Hero Award for the Community Voluteer category for their philanthropic work, which includes a fund at the that supports projects like sending school supplies to Ethiopian children in Israel.

The Novembers’ philanthropy reaches past Beachwood: a learning center at East Cleveland Library, a Cleveland public schools academic reward program and a wing at the Cleveland Clinic have all been funded in honor of their late daughter Debra Ann.

“The Novembers’ commitment to the Jewish belief of ‘tikkun olam’ which translates to - repair the world - is evident in the work they do across Northeast Ohio and the world,” said the presenter at the Red Cross Heroes Awards ceremony.
