Those who want to learn more about the games and, perhaps, even participate in them can go to a Games Buzz Meeting at 7:30 p.m. on April 24 at the Beachwood Public Library.

The Gay Games brings athletes from all over the world -- participants from 17 countries and 34 states already have registered -- in 35 sports including badminton, martial arts, volleyball, powerlifting, running, sailing and more.

The games are expected to bring 30,000 visitors (including 11,000 participants) to Northeast Ohio. Consequently, organizers are looking for local participants, volunteers, donors and general supporters.
