Cavs' Omri Casspi Joins Coolanu Basketball Camp

First Israeli NBA player will work with Tamir Goodman to teach three days in June

Tamir Goodman has teamed up with the NBA's first Israeli player and  to run the Coolanu Israel Basketball Camp during June in Beachwood.

Goodman and Cleveland Cavaliers small forward Omri Casspi will teach three days of camp for kids in first through eighth grades Sundays in June.

Goodman, who played professional basketball in Israel, has been featured in Sports Illustrated and was once dubbed the “Jewish Jordan.” His camp focuses on fundamentals in addition to Jewish heritage and promotes respect and hard work.

Goodman has coached more than 25,000 young athletes through a variety of nationally known basketball camps. He also coached Agnon boys middle school varsity and junior varsity teams.

Casspi was was traded to the Cavs for the 2011 season. Born in Israel, he's played professionally there and for the Sacramento Kings.
