Beachwood HS Track Posts Solid Outings at Mineral Ridge Invitational

The Beachwood High School boys' and girls' track teams competed in the Mineral Ridge Invitational at Mineral Ridge High School last Saturday. Gabrielle Perryman and Ari Sobel each placed third in the 200-meter dash while Hanna Richardson, Olivia Mayfield and Mark Blackwell posted fourth place finishes in their respective events: Richardson in the 800-meter run, Mayfield in the long jump and Edwards in the 110-meter hurdles.

Rounding out the top five finishes were Jason Edwards and Marzell Atkins: Edwards in the 400-meter dash and Atkins in the shot put.

Next up for the Bison track squad is the Beachwood Invitational Saturday at Beachwood High School.*

Girls Results:

Gabrielle Perryman placed 3rd in the 200-meter dash.

Hannah Richardson placed 4th in the 800-meter run.

Olivia Mayfield placed 4th in the long jump.

Julia Friedman finished 6th and 7th in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs, respectively.

The 4x800 relay team of Nicole Rubinstein, Julia Friedman, Samantha Tall and Torrie Sullins finished in 7th place.

Boys Results:

Ari Sobel finished 3rd in the 200-meter dash and 7th in the 100-meter dash.

Mark Blackwell was 4th in 110-meter hurdles.

Jason Edwards finished in 5th place in the 400-meter dash.

Marzell Atkins finished 5th in the shot put and 7th in the discus throw.

William Wolkoff finished 7th in the 1600-meter run and 8th in the 3200-meter run.

Howard Sobel finished 7th in the long jump.
