Viewfinder: Clap Out at Hilltop Elementary
Fifth-graders wind down their school year to the applause of teachers, friends and family
Every year, Hilltop Elementary School fifth-graders parade down the school hall, giving and getting high-fives and handshakes from their teachers, family and friends. On June 8, approximately 100 students made that stroll, accompanied by cheers and applause.
Michael Molnar, the school principal, didn't know when the tradition, called a "clap-out," started, he just knows it's been going on for years. On Wednesday the tradition was observed once again as the class of 2018 headed toward the end of its elementary school career.
