Sunday Ends High School Juried Art Show

The Beachwood Arts Council's exhibit awarded eight students for their work

This is the last weekend to see the Beachwood Arts Council’s annual High School Juried Art Show.

The show gathered multimedia work from 97 students at 25 area high schools. Cash prizes were given to first through third places and five honorable mentions.

Artwork on display includes paintings, photographs, sculptures, wood pieces and even jewelry. Students entered from Beachwood High School as well as Yavne, Hathaway Brown, Richmond Heights, Shaker Heights and Orange.

The show concludes Sunday.

Jurors were Grafton J. Nunes, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Cleveland Institute of Art; Jill Snyder, Executive Director, Contemporary Museum of Art Cleveland; and Dick Kleinman, owner, Dick Kleinman Fine Art Gallery.

"The show represents a wide range of forms. We were impressed with the diversity and quality, and integrity of the works. Among the media, we found the photography especially strong, reflective; a contemporary sensibility,” the jurors released in a statement.

Next up at the Community Center’s Art Gallery is the Beachwood Art Council’s March Diversity Fest, a series of programs kicking off March 6.
