Maltz Museum Names Winners in Stop the Hate Essay Contest

Students from seven counties entered the essay contest.

Thursday night, the winners of the 5th annual Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage Stop the Hate: Youth Speak Out! contest were announced.

  • 200 community volunteers helped to judge the essays. 
  • 1,600 students from seven counties entered the essay contest. 
  • The winner of the first Stop the Hate contest, Matt Soble, returned to help judge the contest in its fifth year. 

The winners and finalists are: 

GRAND SCHOLARSHIP WINNER ($50,000 Scholarship)

Annie Robinson, Aurora High School – 11th grade

SECOND PLACE ($25,000 Scholarship)

THIRD PLACE ($15,000 Scholarship)
