Beachwood Schools Buy 1-Acre Property

Board approves $150,000 purchase in emergency meeting Wednesday

The Beachwood City School Board of Education approved the purchase of just over an acre of land adjacent to today.

The approved a measure to purchase two lots for $150,000 during an emergency meeting this afternoon.

“There’s been no discussion about specific plans,” said spokesperson Doug Levin. “It was just sort of an opportunity to capture that land and study its use.”

The lot at 2746 Richmond Road and a vacant lot next to it, both previously owned by the same owner, are on the north side of the Richmond Road entrance to Beachwood High School. Levin said that the lot could be used to expand that entrance.

One lot has a home, which Levin added the district does not have plans to use.
