Plain Dealer: Beachwood Schools Psychologist Gives Bone Marrow to Stranger

Chris Weyn was matched more than 12 years after she registered

From the Plain Dealer, a Beachwood Schools psychologist got an unexpected surprise recently: more than 12 years after she registered to become a bone marrow donor, she received word that a stranger had matched with her.

After making a quick decision in February – she'd seen two friends struggle with finding a donor since she checked that box over a decade earlier –  Christin Weyn went through a battery of tests and underwent surgery in May for a recipient she'll likely never meet.

Angela Townsend of the Plain Dealer wrote about the inspiring story here.
