Give Warmth To Ronald McDonald House Kids

Hilltop students collecting gifts for goody bags

students are collecting donations to put together gift bags for children at the Ronald McDonald House in Cleveland.

The five members of third-grade team Donating Pals attended Monday’s City Council meeting to publicize the goody drive.

The kids are looking for new scarves, hats and gloves, individually-wrapped snacks and toys and games.

Eight-year-old Hannah Light said that the gifts are to help the kids who may have come from warmer climates stay warm in Cleveland this winter.

“The kids who are at the Ronald McDonald House … come from all over the world to see doctors in Cleveland because we have such good doctors here,” Hannah said.

They hope the games, snacks and activities will help stave off boredom during long doctor appointments.

Donations will be taken through January at Hilltop, , and .

Checks are also accepted: make them payable to the Ronald McDonald House, memo Team Donating Pals and send to the Beachwood Buzz, 2000 Warrensville Center Road, Cleveland, OH 44121.

The teams will put the donations together in goody bags they will distribute to kids staying at the House next year. Checks will be donated directly to the House.
