Beachwood Schools Foundation will host gala to support scholarship endowments

Tomorrow at noon is the deadline to purchase seats for the White and Gold Thru the Decades Gala, to be held this Saturday. This deadline has been extended from March 26, and limited tickets remain, according to information released today.

Just in time for the high school's 50th anniversary – and in the midst of the  – the Beachwood Schools Foundation is hosting a gala next month to celebrate and support its endowments, which provide more than 25 scholarships a year for graduating seniors.

is April 9 and will feature live music from the Beachwood High School Band and Orchestra as well as Last Call, a local classic rock, rock and pop band.

There will also be a silent auction, food from All Around Downtown Catering and a presentation about Beachwood High School’s 50 years.

The Foundation was founded in 1996 by former Superintendent Paul Williams and its first six scholarships were awarded in 1999. Today, the Foundation supports 25 scholarships, each awarded to students with specific qualities, like leadership, excellence in culinary arts, athleticism and sportsmanship, academics and humanitarianism.

The scholarships are endowed privately, but proceeds from the Gala will support these. So far 218 students have received scholarships through the Foundation, a volunteer-run organization.
