Fundraiser Pits Students Against Teachers

Registration open now for Beachwood High School PTO's Ultimate Dodgeball Dare

Get out your sports goggles and prepare for a high school gym class flashback: Beachwood High School’s PTO is planning its second Ultimate Dodgeball Dare for next month.

The tournament is to raise funds for the PTO, which sponsors the school’s after-prom party, supports high school clubs and provides money to students for trips and extracurriculars.

“Funding is really dwindling across the board,” said organizer Evie Davis.

The event will be sponsored in part by Chick-fil-A and Ben and Jerry’s. Both will be on hand to sell snacks.

There will also be a raffle for attendees and prizes for the top teams. Admission to the event is $3 and Davis said that she expects teachers, school staff and even Board of Education members to form teams, along with high school students. Parents, alumni and community members are all invited to form teams.

Volunteers are also needed to sell tickets and referee games.

Teams of seven can register for $35. Team members must be at least high school aged.

To register or volunteer, call Davis at 216-561-7148.
