Cleveland’s Jewish Neighborhoods: Beachwood

Beachwood was once a sleepy little village, boasting a population of 151. Today, that little town is a bustling metropolis of more than 12,000 inhabitants. Even with this meteoric growth, Beachwood has retained an authentic charm.

Beachwood has always been home to a great many synagogues representing all branches of the Jewish faith. In addition, this area is home to the Jewish Community Center, Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, and the new headquarters of the Jewish Federation.

Come to Maltz to hear from Sean Martin, Associate Curator of Jewish History at Western Reserve Historical Society. He will take you back in time to see how Beachwood has grown and how the Jewish population helped to shape and influence the city and its rich tapestry of history.
