Bison Fall to Kirtland 20-18 in Overtime

Beachwood High School's football team held back undefeated Kirtland to go into overtime tied at 12.

The Beachwood High School varsity football team fell to Kirtland - but barely - in overtime in an exciting matchup Saturday.

The Bison scored two touchdowns in the first half, going into the locker room leading the Hornets 12-0. But Kirtland came out of halftime energized, scoring a touchdown in the first 49 seconds of the third quarter after an 85-yard punt return.

The game went into overtime after the Bison allowed another touchdown in the second half, tying the game at 12.

Kirtland scored a touchdown and carried it into the end zone again for two extra points.

Though the Bison scored a touchdown immediately upon getting the ball in OT, the team missed their own shot at a two-point conversion and lost 20-18.
