Beachwood Schools Approves All-Day Preschool

Board votes in favor of new option for 4-year-olds

Beachwood City Schools will offer all-day preschool beginning next fall.

The Board of Education met in a special meeting Monday night and approved the proposal, which was discussed at the March 12 meeting, 5-0.

Enrollment at Fairmount is up, said Leeds, and she believes it will rise again next year.

She said that studies show that students who participate in all-day preschool perform better academically. The all-day program will leave more time for math, literacy and social studies, among other activities.
