The Beachwood High School Lady Bison beat Mogadore 53-48 Wednesday, advancing to vie for the Division III regional title.

The teams were on each other's heels the entire game, ending the first quarter at 14-11 Bison. With just over a minute left in the game, Beachwood was still only three points ahead at 43-40, according to the district's Facebook page.

“It was a solid team effort,” said Beachwood first-year head coach Mike Coreno to BeachwoodBison.org. “We were tied 17-17 at halftime and came out in the third quarter a little flat but we made up ground and took a lead into the fourth quarter. The kids just executed again down the stretch.”

This is the school's first bout for the district title, and the Lady Bison are continuing the best season in the school's history.
The Lady Bison will next play Orrville or Hanover United.
The game will be Saturday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Cuyahoga Falls High School.
