Beachwood Arts Council to Present Student Artwork

The artwork of students from 22 area high schools will be on display beginning Sunday

The Beachwood Arts Council is preparing for its 18th annual Juried High School Student Art Show.

The Council will honor participating students from schools across the region from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Beachwood Community Center during an opening ceremony. The students' work will be displayed in an exhibition there through Feb. 24.

The main event Sunday will be the awards show at 3 p.m. in which the top eight works will be announced and their creators will win a cash award, according to the Council's website. The other participants will receive a smaller monetary award.

Submissions from students representing 22 Northeast Ohio schools will be judged by executives from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Ursuline College and more.

The gallery's hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays.
