Superintendent Rich Markwardt told the Board that the cuts were made in places that would not affect the building’s energy savings or long-term quality. “We want there to be a ‘wow’ factor. We want the community to know the money we’ve invested in this building is money well spent.”

He added that some money has been freed up as pieces of the project are completed under budget.
