Letter written to Ohio Auditor criticizes Merle Gorden's dinners, city vehicle and more
Taxpayers in Beachwood have called for Ohio Auditor David Yost to look into spending by Beachwood Mayor Merle Gorden following buzz about his $178,000 per year salary, WKYC reports.
The issue was raised when City Council considered a raise for the mayor and members of council last month. Later Gorden suggested a pay freeze.
An editorial in The Plain Dealer argued that he's spent too many tax dollars on dinners, travel and a city vehicle.
