School Board to Hear Athletic Eligibility Proposal
Beachwood City Schools Board of Education meets tonight at 7:30 p.m.
The Beachwood City Schools will hear proposed changes to the district's athletic eligibility requirements at tonight's meeting.
Beachwood City Schools plans to raise the bar, requiring that students achieve a 2.0 GPA in the preceding quarter and no failing grades, principal Bob Hardis said at the Sept. 26 meting. The proposed standards would allow athletes who raise their grades four weeks after the start of the season to participate.
Members voted in November to postpone voting on the measure until the district's legal counsel had reviewed the document's language.

The board will vote on an increase of $73,600 for the high school renovations at tonight’s meeting.

The change orders fall within the project’s said district spokesperson Doug Levin.
Renovations began at Beachwood High School last year and are expected to be complete by the start of the start of the 2013-2014 school year.
