Ohio Governor Bans Texting While Driving (POLL)

Do you think Beachwood should pass its more restrictive proposed law?

Ohio is the 39th state to ban texting while driving after Gov. John Kasich signed the bill into law Friday afternoon surrounded by family members of those killed by drivers distracted by cell phones, reports The Columbus Dispatch. 

For adults, texting while driving would be a secondary offense. Teen drivers, however, could be pulled over for any use of electronic devices like phones and tablets except through voice commands.

But that  Chief Mark Sechrist said would extend these statewide restrictions proposed for minors to everyone else, too.

This would be a primary offense in Beachwood - which means that drivers can be pulled over and cited for using a cell phone.
