How Did Beachwood Vote on Super Tuesday?

Find out how Beachwood's voter turnout and results compared to the rest of Cuyahoga County

Voter turnout in Beachwood was slightly higher than the total in Cuyahoga County on Super Tuesday, according to numbers released by the Board of Elections.

Of the 890,000 registered voters in the county, about 27 percent cast ballots Tuesday. Beachwood’s voter turnout was around 32.5 percent.

Only 28 percent of Beachwood voters cast Republican ballots, but they supported Mitt Romney for the presidential nomination by a large margin – 81 percent of Republican voters.

The next most popular Republican presidential candidate was Newt Gingrich with 13 percent of votes in Beachwood. The county placed Rick Santorum second, with nearly 30 percent of the Republican vote, while Beachwood's contingency granted him less than 2 percent of their support.

Though votes countywide nominated Tim McGinty for the Democratic ticket, Beachwood's contest was much closer between McGinty, Robert Triozzi and Subodh Chandra.
