Court: NEORSD Stormwater Tax Legal

Beachwood spent nearly $200,000 in legal fees for joint lawsuit

A court ruled Thursday that the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District's fee for a regional stormwater management system is legal, according to the NEORSD website.

Beachwood's share of legal fees in the lawsuit, which was a joint action with Brecksville, Strongsville and Cleveland Heights, among other communities, was $199,270.77, according to the City of Beachwood.

The average homeowner will pay about $57 additional per year for the system, which is designed to protect communities from flooding, NEORSD adds.
