Beachwood Schools to Get $30,000 From Casino Taxes

Schools will be receiving the first set of casino tax payments in January.

Beachwood City Schools will soon receive $30,000 in taxes from the state’s new casinos, the schools said.

Figures for this first set of payments were released earlier this week, though Beachwood City Schools was erroneously left off the published list.

The Plain Dealer reports that the state is passing out more than $37.9 million in casino taxes to schools and districts across Ohio. Schools will receive their payments—based on enrollment—in January and August each year.
