The Beachwood Convention and Visitors Bureau has installed a Board of Directors that includes seven representatives from the city and the private sector.
Wayne Lawrence was hired to serve as president of the CVB, and now spends half his time carrying out duties for that position and the other half on his directorship.
The board has met with the city's six hotels to discuss the direction and scope of the Bureau, and is evaluating bids for a website, said Lawrence.
He said that the CVB, a 501(c)(6) could officially launch around Sept. 1.
City Council appointed Fred Goodman to represent them on the board, and agreed to a structure that puts the Economic Development Director as the city's representative.
The Chamber of Commerce Directors appointed two of their members to represent the Chamber: Rob Platt of Trend Branding Solutions and Shenise Thomas of the Cuyahoga Community College East.
