Office Sought: Beachwood City Council

Previous Political Office Sought or Held: Elected to Beachwood City Council, 1992 to present

Candidate Statement: I have the experience at all levels of City government to help lead the City into the future. I am an accountant by degree and as chairman of economic development and as a member of the finance committee I have helped move the City of Beachwood through the most challenging of financial times the City has ever experienced.

I will work to make sure that our financial stability is ensured for the future. $2,000,000 a year will need to be replaced due to the state eliminating the inheritance tax in 2013. In addition, I will work to help to create and initiate our new economic development direction. These have been challenging times and we need to adjust accordingly.

I think my biggest accomplishment has been to help guide the City through the last two years helping to manage our financial issues. I am part of the seasoned leadership who quite simply got the job done. In spite of the current challenging economic climate, Beachwood residents have continued to enjoy:
• Superior Police and Fire Protection, no layoffs
• Unequaled City Services – Snow removal second to none
• Safe and Superior Recreation Facilities
• Solid Fiscal Stability and continued economic growth – Ahuja University Hospital open and Eaton’s World Headquarters is coming out of the ground.
