City Council, Economic Development Committee meetings set for tonight

Beachwood could enact and will discuss incentives programs and tonight.

Tonight’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting will be immediately followed by an economic development committee meeting.

Included on the council agenda is a proposed cell phone ban for drivers, which was read at the last meeting but not voted on.

An Economic Development Committee meeting has been scheduled immediately following the Council meeting.

The committee will discuss to lure new businesses to the city, the Beachwood Convention and Visitor’s Bureau — which the city has contracted the Chamber of Commerce to oversee — and a part-time hire in the economic development department.
