Beachwood Approves Application for State Grant

City will join regional effort to evaluate feasibility for regional dispatch center

Beachwood City Council approved a measure to join four other cities to evaluate the possibility of a regional dispatch center at Tuesday’s council meeting.

The measure called for Beachwood to join an application for a state grant of $100,000 to conduct the study for the feasibility of the joint project with the Eastside Departments Group Enforcement (EDGE).

EDGE includes Beachwood, Euclid, South Euclid, Shaker Heights and University Heights.

If the grant is awarded, Beachwood will pay up to $2,000 toward the grant’s required 10 percent match.
