Armond Budish Announces County Executive Run

Ohio House Rep. from Beachwood announces run with current Executive Ed FitzGerald by his side.

House Representative Armond Budish, D-Beachwood, announced today that he will run for the Cuyahoga County Executive spot in 2014, according to a statement released by his campaign.

Budish announced his candidacy with current County Executive Ed FitzGerald, who is running for Ohio Governor in 2014, by his side.

Last week, Budish stepped down from his position at the Ohio House Minority Leader, and news agencies reported that he was expected to make a run for Executive.

“I’m running for Cuyahoga County Executive because I know we have a tremendous opportunity to succeed as a region if we come together and build on our strengths,” Budish said. “I’ve spent my career bringing people together to find common purpose and positive solutions, and I am committed to a strong, successful and sustainable future for our 59 independent communities and our unified county.”

Also at his announcement this morning were U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, and Ohio State Rep. Sandra Williams, D-Cleveland, according to a statement released by his campaign today.
