Apartments, School Property Added to Tonight's Council Agenda

City Council will meet in a special meeting tonight to discuss matters related to economic development in the city.

Earlier  to hear a proposal from the Chamber of Commerce for a Visitors and Convention Bureau and to hear about the county’s anti-poaching proposal.

The agenda was amended last week to include a discussion about pending legislation to

City Planner George Smerigan will present information for a possible restriction on the number of studio units allowed in apartment buildings in this zoning district.

Councilman Martin Horwitz requested the information at the last meeting of Council, adding that he believes tenants in larger apartments tend to be more permanent residents.
