Strength of Murder Case Against Andrea Sneiderman Questioned
Jury trial set to begin July 29
Rumors are swirling in DeKalb County, Ga. this week after a local TV news station aired a piece questioning the strength of charges against Andrea Sneiderman.
Sneiderman is accused of being involved in the murder of her husband and Beachwood native Russell Sneiderman in November 2010 and has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, hindering an investigation and perjury.
She's set to face trial beginning next week and has already seen four charges against her dropped.
WXIA-TV aired an interview Monday with a former district attorney who said that the murder charges against Sneiderman were "circumstantial and weak" and speculated that the charge could be dropped.
The attorney, who has no connection to the case, added that he might drop the charge if it were his case.
Soon after the interview aired, WSB-TV reported that "court sources" told the station that prosecutors are considering dropping the murder charges.
A Facebook group run by "Justice for Rusty" members called the news stories rumors.
