Warrant issued for arrest of suspect, whose identity has not been released by police

Police are searching for a man who pushed security officers and ran from after stealing merchandise.

According to a police report, a man hid items under his coat at the store at 26300 Cedar Road just before 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14.  Loss-prevention employees tried to detain him and the man pushed them and ran from the store. He fled in a red Toyota.

A Beachwood police officer chased the suspect’s car but stopped when the chase put others in danger, said the department’s administrative assistant Joel Edelstein.
