Police: Woman in Jail After Giving False Name

Beachwood Police arrested a Cleveland woman when she went to get her car out from the police station.

Police say a Cleveland woman lied to police about who she was while they were towing her car and ended up in jail.

Janiese Sears, 20, gave Beachwood Police a fake name when they towed her car in Beachwood, police say. But by the time she arrived at the police station to retrieve her car, they had discovered who she was through the car’s registration. And she had three warrants out for her arrest, including one on felonious assault and vandalism charges out of Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.

Sears was arrested and charged with obstructing official business. She’s currently being held in jail on a $10,000 bond, according to court documents.
